10 Warning Signs of Depression
10:430 Comments

Dear all, I’m not writing this post just because “Mental Health” is nowadays making a buzz after the demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, but because being a sufferer of depression I can let you know some actual warning signs of this cruel disease. A disease that has no visible symptoms, a disease that people feel shy to share about, a disease that makes even a strong person weak.

For our generation, the competition is really high to achieve anything in life and therefore in the race to grow fast we forget our-self and keep ignoring what we really want. And steadily, it leads you to go into stress and you don’t even realize that it’s happening. No matter if you are a teen or an adult, you can be a victim of this mental illness. Here I’m sharing 10 hidden symptoms of depression. Get to know if you relate with some of them.

1. You get easily irritated

Even a small thing can annoy you and you get upset for the whole day without telling anyone. It's called a mood disorder which makes you hate everything. Believe it or not, you find even a good morning text irritating, you sense your praises suspiciously, you get easily hurt, and you feel worthless.

2. Chronic fatigue

You feel constantly tired; mentally as well as physically. No matter if you don't do anything and keep resting for the whole day, you still feel exhausted. Getting out of your comfort zone looks like a tough job.

3. You’re having anxiety attacks

Everyone feels anxious about something but if your anxiety suddenly reaches an intense level where it's out of control and if this situation remains for a long time, know that you're depressed.

4. You feel detached

You keep avoiding people yourself and then start feeling as an alone soul. It later results in the phobia of stepping out. You like being alone but it scares at the same time.

5. You have no patience

Waiting for something is not your cup of tea. You want everything instantly. And if you do not get that, you lose control over your emotions.

6. It’s hard to focus

Psychologically, overthinking reduces your mental energy. If you experience it for a long time, you may become unable to even think clearly or unable to concentrate.

7. Headaches

There may be many factors of a headache but stress is a common cause of it. As per a study, people who experience migraines are most like to be anxious.

8. You lack motivation

You've lost the spark to do things because nothing seems interesting to you and you start believing like you can't do anything. If you start doing anything, the idea of quitting keeps running in your mind.

9. Under-eating / Over-eating

A depressed person does not take care of himself and his diet, it may result in weight gain or weight loss. You start having an upset stomach too.

10. Insomnia

It's one of the major signs of depression. You keep regretting your past, thinking about the present, and stressing about the future while trying hard to fall asleep. Sometimes, insomnia becomes another reason to stress about in the night.

If you experience more than 5 symptoms from this list then you need to pay attention to your self-being now. Remember that there's always an escape. Some ways to get out of this sea of emotions are- Sleep for 8 hours every night, do meditation, be thankful for everything you've got, eat healthy food, do exercise, go for a walk and most importantly talk to people who really care.

Recalling Monsoon Memories
23:351 Comments
Monsoon, a season that doesn’t make me feel romantic, but nostalgic! When the first rain of this season falls on dry earth, nostalgia comes to visit me with the most pleasant fragrance (known as “petrichor”). <3
Today, when it’s raining outside, I’m recalling some beautiful memories of my childhood days :)
  • Tea & Pakoras- After the sunny boring summer when the weather changes its mode from hot to cool, the combo of tea-pakoras with the warmth of mamma’s love doubles the enjoyment of rainy season. But now, I hardly enjoy this moment once or twice in the whole season.
  • Sailing Paper Boats- Mostly kids tear pages from their notebooks to make paper boats but we used to make boats using greasy leaves of a specific tree (Sorry I forgot the name). My brother (Bhaiya) always used to put an ant into his boat, LOL :D
  • Spotting Rainbows- Probably the best thing of those days. Our science textbooks became meaningful when we first spotted rainbow.
  • Making Hailstone (Ollay) Art- It’s funny but true that our creativity was getting improved with these kinds small stuff hahaha!
  • Jumping in puddles- Getting dirty was not an issue those days! It used to be the best moment of the day.
  • Walks after rain- As my dad was in forest department, so we mostly used to live in government quarters that too in forests/nurseries. I remember how much we enjoyed those walks with Papa in cool and calm breeze to feel that wet, washed and shiny greenery after rain. I used to shake rainwater off from trees’ branches on my sister and brother :P I'm crazy since birth hahaha ;)
Nothing was embarrassing when we were kids but now when we all grown up we can’t do any of these silly but beautiful things to make ourselves happy.
Why can’t we again be the children we were once? :(

Things I Learned Through the Spirit of Yoga
20:540 Comments
Atha Yoganushasanam ||1||
(And now begins the Yoga instruction).

This is how Patanjali Yoga Sutras start.
Yoga, originated in Vedic times of India, is a mental, physical, emotional and spiritual practice to shape our body and mood.
You definitely have heard that “Prevention is better than cure”; and yoga is the cheapest prevention to cure all kinds of diseases, to improve physical fitness and for endurance. No equipment required, only 6x6  ft’s space is sufficient. I’ve been practicing yoga since my school days and here are the things I’ve learned through yoga-

1.       To be punctual- For me, Yoga is the road to a more centered life. Yoga tends me to an inner journey to find who I really am. When you’ll start it, you’ll get to know (its magic). J

2.       To breath- The mind-body coordination gets strengthen by inhaling and exhaling deeply that provides a better sense of well-being, improves concentration and thinking power; and relieves stress.

3.       To be calm and feel myself- A greater sense of relaxation and peace of mind is contributed by yoga practices. It helps me to unclutter my mind and makes me feel better about myself.

4.       To be clean- Practicing yoga encouraged me to do self-care externally as well as internally.

We all should be thankful and feel proud of our Indian tradition that teaches everyone to live a healthier lifestyle! Now a days, yoga is being modified to make it interesting so that youth can adopt it willingly.
Looking forward to share more Yoga love with you, meanwhile, grab your mat and start doing Yoga. Yes, you can do it!! Haha :D

Happy International Yoga Day J

10 Small Things To Remember To Make 2016 Better Than 2015
01:080 Comments
The New Year is quickly approaching and soon we’ll discuss our resolutions. Resolutions are nothing, they’re just a little motivation for you by yourself.
Generally, people think that not a single resolution lasts so far but if you push yourself to follow at least some of these worth keeping resolutions, you’ll come to know its bright side.

1. Embrace changes: You’re note a tree, if you don’t like where you are, change it. Never fear change, accept challenges in life.
2. Appreciate what you have: Have you heard that "Some people lose diamonds in search of stones"? People, who are grateful are happier and more satisfied. Stop comparing yourself to others, it just makes you stressed and depressed.

3. Take care of yourself: Your exterior never expresses your interior. Eat healthy, drink more water, quit smoking, do exercise and stay healthy.

4. Be loyal: Stay honest with your friends, family and love.

5. Laugh more: For your health and happiness.

6. Get outdoors more: Life is not meant to be at one place. Go outside and explore, it’ll make you feel good about yourself.

7. Learn a new language: One language is never enough. Enjoy the challenge of learning a new language (a difficult one :P ).

8. Contribute for a good cause: Giving is great. Be someone’s smile this year by saving some amount of your earnings for them.

9. Go on a blind date: Create some adventure in 2016 but be prepared to face the risk of such fun :P

10. Be happy for no reason :) There’s always a next year!

Let’s say good bye to 2015 with a bang and welcome 2016 with a big smile :)

5 Poems You Can Dedicate To Your Daddy On Father’s Day
22:420 Comments
The role of our dads in our life is incredibly important. He teaches us to face the challenges of life and does his best to accomplish our requirements. Here I’m sharing some of my favorite poems that you can dedicate today in honor of the real hero of your life :)

1.     Daddy, I love you
Daddy, I love you
For all that you do.
I’ll kiss you & hug you
‘Cause you love me, too.’

You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile ‘cause I love you
On this Father’s day.

2.     A father just like you
I just want to let you know
You mean the world to me
Only a heart as dear as yours
Would give so unselfishly.

The many things you’ve done
All the times that you were there
Help me know deep down inside
How much you really care

Even though I might not say
I appreciate all you do
Richly blessed is how I feel
Having a father just like you!

3.     My Dad’s Hands
My Dad’s hands are strong
And they’re big & they’re tough.
But when I need help
They’re gentle enough.

My Dad’s hands can teach me
To work and to give
And by their example
I’ll learn how to live.

Right now my hands are small
And learning good from bad
Some day I hope my hands
Will be just like my Dad’s.

4.     Walk with me Daddy
Walk along side me, Daddy
and hold my little hand.
I’ve so many things to learn
that I don’t yet understand.

Teach me things to keep me safe
from dangers every day.
Show me how to do my best
at home, at school, at play.

Every child needs a gentle hand
to guide them as they grow.
So walk alongside me, Daddy
We have a long way to go.

5.     My Superhero, My Dad
My Dad and I have special powers
I bet you didn’t know
And when we’re together
Our super powers grow.

I’ve the gift of flight
To soar and leap and bound
I can hover in the sky
And never touch the ground

I’m growing stronger too
With each passing hour.
I can even save the day
With my super power.

Dad’s arms help me reach
The things I cannot touch.
His love and guidance carry me
I look up to him so much.

And even when I’m all grow up
I know that I’ll be glad
That I had my own superhero
Mt Best Friend, My Dad

J

Wish you all a very Happy Father’s Day!!
